A logistics location is the ideal place to create an online presence for your business, according to new research.
Key findings from a new RTE survey conducted by a company called Trinity Logistics show that there are currently more than 30,000 logistics locations in Ireland.
The company is looking to hire 3,000 people, which would create a total of around 1,000 jobs across the country.
The survey found that Ireland has an average cost of employing a logistics employee of around €2,000.
The average pay for an employee is around €20,000 per year.
This is around 6% more than the UK, which has an annual average pay of £21,000, and France, which averages £23,000 for an average employee.
In Ireland, there are around 20,000 locations with an average turnover of €1.2 billion.
This compares to around 6,500 in the UK and France and 3,600 in the US, according the survey.
Trinity Logistic is looking for people who are skilled in logistics, but can also adapt to a variety of other fields.
They are looking for someone who is willing to learn and who is motivated by the opportunity to be part of a fast growing and diversified company.
The main requirement for candidates is a strong business and marketing background.
The survey asked candidates for their views on three key areas: 1) What are the key advantages of a logistics location; 2) How would you find one; and 3) What’s the best way to find a logistics position in Ireland?
The answers were overwhelmingly positive for each of the three areas, with nearly two thirds of respondents saying they would love to find out more about a logistics role.
Trinity Logistics also asked respondents about the benefits of a location, with almost half saying that the benefits would be good.
The biggest factor is a good social atmosphere, with around 80% of respondents responding that they would be happy to find someone with a positive social life.
The study found that almost three quarters of those surveyed would like to work in the logistics sector and nearly half said they would like more opportunities to work with people from different cultures.
The most common reason given for wanting to work at a logistics site was a lack of jobs.
This was followed by the desire to get out of the office and into the community, followed by finding work and making friends.
More than two thirds (68%) of those asked said they felt that a company would be better off having someone from outside the country working at the site, while around two thirds would also be happy if a company was able to hire someone from another country to work as a team member.
The Trinity Logisms’ business plan is to create a logistics platform for Ireland.
It will provide companies with a network of people who can meet and collaborate in a professional and relaxed setting.
